COLD WATER KIDS

BRIEF

Cold Water Kids started out as an idea while exploring the surf off the coast of the Olympic Peninsula. The cold water surf culture is something that is difficult to describe due to its frigid temps and seasonal weather conditions. But what lies at the core of the community is the will to pursue that what makes us feel alive. This project was an effort to share that culture with others and attempt to illustrate the persona that thrives in this environment.

As the final step of the design process I decided to go further and bring this identity to life by screen-printing apparel. This final step made the whole project that much more enjoyable and close to home for me and allowed me to utilize my experience as a screen-print designer on a personal project.
